Birth Center Classes: Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm

EARLY DAYS - first tuesday of the month - this class covers the first two months of pregnancy including common concerns, routine tests, and providing a forum for asking and answering any questions you have about pregnancy.  The class starts with a mindfulness practice to help both partners connect with the pregnancy.

LABOR PREPARATION - second tuesday of the month - This class encompasses labor - what does labor feel like? when does labor start? what can I expect with labor? - along with the nuts of bolts of when to call the midwife and what to bring to the center.

BREASTFEEDING BASICS- third tuesday of the month - Breastfeeding can be incredibly challenging - and also provides an exquisite opportunity for bonding, connection, and health.  We will talk about the first few days of breastfeeding specifically learning feeding cues, normal breastfeeding, newborn behavior and breast care.

BABY CARE - fourth tuesday of the month -  We will help you prepare for those first few weeks of life with baby.  We will cover normal newborn activities, breathing, feeding (make sure you come to the breastfeeding class), diapering, sleep and wake cycles.

These classes are specific for our birth center families and included in the fee package. Classes are recommended for all birth center clients that have not birthed with us before. These classes are led by one of our nurses.

Hynobabies with Cassie Friesen
Cassie Friesen teaches Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis classes, a very successful 6 week complete childbirth education course using Gerald Kein’s Painless Childbirth techniques. This allows our Hypno-Moms to enjoy “Eyes Open Childbirth Hypnosis,” easily remaining deeply in hypnosis while walking, talking changing positions- being as mobile as they would like to be during childbirth.
